About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information TokenCosts.ai collects when you visit tokencosts.ai, sign in to the subscriber layer (when available), or use the dashboards and data links on this site. It covers how we use that information, who we share it with, and the choices you have. TokenCosts.ai (“TokenCosts.ai,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a service operated by 2 Degree Shift, Inc., a California C Corporation.

TokenCosts.ai is a companion site to three separately-operated product services: CutTokenCosts.com, ReduceTokenCosts.com, and TokensHelpdesk.com. Each of the three product sites has its own Privacy Policy that governs data collected through that service (SMS phone numbers, product-specific intake forms, monthly documents delivered from that product). This TokenCosts.ai policy governs only the data collected on tokencosts.ai itself.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service.

Information you give us directly

  • Email address. Required if you sign in to the subscriber layer (when available). Optional otherwise. Used to send transactional notifications about the site, to authenticate sign-in, and to respond to requests you send us.
  • Sign-in credentials. When the subscriber layer launches, we will collect the credentials required to authenticate you (typically an email address and a magic-link token or password). Passwords, if used, are stored as one-way hashes. We do not store plain-text passwords.
  • Contact form and email content. When you email us at Connect@TokenCosts.ai or use a contact form on the site, we store your message and our reply so we can respond to you and keep a record of the conversation.
  • Dashboard preferences. When the subscriber layer launches, you may set preferences (which dashboards you view, which data views you save). These preferences are stored with your account and used only to render the site the way you asked.

Information we collect automatically

  • Website analytics. When you visit tokencosts.ai we collect standard web-analytics data: pages viewed, referring site, browser type, approximate location (city level, from IP address), and time on page. We use this to understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • Cookies. Our site uses a small number of cookies for essential functions (keeping you signed in, remembering your dashboard preferences) and for analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings.
  • Sign-in and session information (subscriber layer). When you sign in, we record the sign-in event (time, IP address, user agent) for security and audit purposes. Sessions expire on a schedule appropriate to the sensitivity of the data behind sign-in.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not use tracking pixels from advertising networks.
  • We do not build behavioral profiles for advertising.
  • We do not collect precise location data (GPS coordinates).
  • We do not collect health, financial account, or other sensitive personal information beyond what is described above.
  • We do not collect SMS phone numbers on tokencosts.ai. SMS phone numbers are collected on the three product sites (CutTokenCosts.com, ReduceTokenCosts.com, TokensHelpdesk.com) under those services’ policies.
  • We do not collect payment information on tokencosts.ai. Payments are processed on the three product sites through Stripe, under those services’ policies.

How we use your information

  • To authenticate you when you sign in to the subscriber layer (when available).
  • To render the dashboards, monthly document archive, and data links you asked to see.
  • To respond to messages you send us (email, contact form, or sign-in support requests).
  • To send transactional notifications about the site (welcome, security notifications, service changes).
  • To improve the site based on which pages and features are used.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the site.
  • We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information.

The subscriber layer (coming in a later phase)

TokenCosts.ai will host a subscriber-only layer in a later phase, including a sign-in flow, dashboards, a monthly document archive, and links to data views. When we ship that layer, the following additional handling will apply.

  • Sign-in is scoped to what you subscribe to. Your access reflects your subscription. We do not merge subscriber records across products beyond what is required to give you a single sign-in.
  • Dashboards render subscriber data. The data shown in a dashboard is the same data covered by the product-specific privacy policy for whichever product the dashboard reflects. Rendering that data does not change how it was collected or how long it is retained.
  • Third-party embedded dashboards, if we use them, will be listed as subprocessors in the next update to this policy. The embed vendor will be under a subprocessor agreement that limits their use of your data to rendering the dashboard.
  • Session logs are retained for 12 months for security and audit purposes.

Who we share your information with

We share information only with the following categories of recipients, and only for the purposes described.

  • Service providers acting on our behalf. A web analytics provider for site improvement, an email delivery provider for transactional emails, and (when the subscriber layer launches) an authentication provider for sign-in and session management. Each of these subprocessors is contractually required to use your information only to provide services to us.
  • The three product services. CutTokenCosts.com, ReduceTokenCosts.com, and TokensHelpdesk.com are separately-operated services under the same parent (2 Degree Shift, Inc.). When you sign in to the subscriber layer, we will use your product subscription record to render the correct dashboards for you. The product record itself is governed by the product-specific privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • Business transfers. If 2 Degree Shift, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your choices and rights

  • Sign out. You can sign out of the subscriber layer at any time (when available). Sign-out ends your session immediately.
  • Delete your TokenCosts.ai account. When the subscriber layer launches, you will be able to delete your TokenCosts.ai account and its associated sign-in credentials. This deletes your sign-in and dashboard-preference data from tokencosts.ai. It does not delete your product subscription. To cancel a product subscription, follow the cancellation instructions on that product’s site.
  • Unsubscribe from transactional email. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. Note that some transactional emails (security notifications, sign-in codes) cannot be unsubscribed because they are required to operate the service.
  • Access, correction, deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your information. Email Connect@TokenCosts.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
  • Do not track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals because there is no consistent industry standard for how to do so.

If you are a California resident

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have additional rights:

  • The right to know what personal information we have collected about you.
  • The right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email Connect@TokenCosts.ai. We will verify your identity before responding to your request and will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom

TokenCosts.ai is not marketed to users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. Our service is offered in English only, priced in U.S. dollars on the associated product sites, and delivered primarily by SMS on the product sites. We do not run advertising, translate our copy, or otherwise direct our activities toward these regions.

If you nonetheless visit tokencosts.ai or sign in to the subscriber layer from the EEA or UK, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, including:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data while an issue is resolved.
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format so you can move it elsewhere.
  • Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: your national or regional data protection authority (for example, the CNIL in France, the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or the Informacijski pooblaščenec in Slovenia).

To exercise any of these rights, email Connect@TokenCosts.ai. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and respond substantively within 7 days, as required by GDPR Article 12.

How long we keep your information

Active subscriber accounts (when the subscriber layer launches): for as long as your account is active, plus 3 years after deletion for tax and audit records.

Sign-in and session logs: 12 months from the date of the event.

Dashboard preferences: for as long as your account is active. Deleted when you delete your account.

Website analytics data: 26 months.

Contact-form and email records: 3 years from the date of the conversation.

Data covered by the three product services is retained according to the retention schedule in each product service’s own Privacy Policy. TokenCosts.ai renders the data. The product service retains it.

How we protect your information

We use commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your information: encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, subprocessor agreements, and limited retention. When the subscriber layer launches, sign-in credentials will be stored as one-way hashes and session tokens will be short-lived. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we discover a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate regulators as required by applicable law.

Children’s privacy

TokenCosts.ai is a business-facing site intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for account holders on the subscriber layer, send an email notification with a link to the updated policy. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
